St Faith's has a reputation for maintaining high academic standards.
Scholarships are offered with a view to extending the benefits and opportunities of a St Faith's education. We have a specific written policy for very able children and a comprehensive extension studies programme. St Faith's Scholarships are available to children aged 7+.
Children entered for an award in Year 3 will have reached their seventh birthday by 1 September 2010. The awards are tenable for six years from Year 3 and their value is between 10% and 30% of the appropriate age fee. Scholarship assessments are held in the Lent term and are open to internal and external candidates.
In addition, The Leys and St Faith’s Foundation offers two scholarships specifically for older children who are to move on to The Leys. The two scholars are identified at age 11 and their awards provide a percentage of the fee appropriate for the final two years at St Faith’s and then five years at The Leys.
We are very proud of the high standards the children achieve in the broad range of subjects that we teach. A good percentage of our children win scholarships at the age of 13 to their future senior schools.
In recent years children have gained academic, music, drama, design & technology, art, sport and all-round scholarships to Culford, Framlingham, The King's School, Ely, The Leys, The Perse, Oakham, Oundle, St Mary's and Uppingham schools.
St Faith's continues to do its best to ensure that children who would benefit from an education at the School are not excluded for financial reasons. We therefore offer a number of means-tested bursaries for families of limited means and these range from 10% to 100% of school fees. Bursaries are subject to annual review and are subject to the availability of funds.
The parent of a pupil already in the School may apply for a bursary as a result of a change in their financial circumstances, in order to enable the pupil to continue in the School, thus avoiding disruption to his/her education. The award of this category of Bursary may be made at any time in a pupil’s school career.
Bursaries are also available on initial entry into the School. Children of Old Fidelians may qualify for Bursaries on application. Parents of three or more children concurrently at the School may also be eligible for bursary assistance on application.
Applications for bursary assistance should be made to the Headmaster. A confidential Statement of Financial Circumstances will be completed and any award will be made on the basis of this. The Bursar can provide application forms and guidance.
